Post selfies on Instagram and Snapchat, present yourself in videos on YouTube, like and share photos from friends: Social media is often criticized, especially when it comes to ideals of beauty. But when it comes to exercise, they can also be a source of inspiration and motivation. Do you still lack the right drive to achieve your athletic goals? Then you should just let yourself drift virtually and you can easily get out of your comfort zone. Especially on Instagram you can find inspiring personalities in the fitness area, who give you the decisive motivational push with their pictures, videos and life wisdom. And we make it even easier for you, because here are our personal favorites:
Nadir Nahdi: I didn’t want to, so I just had to do it
Nadir Nahdi is so much more than a fitness influencer. He makes mini-documentaries in which – in addition to cultural and social topics – he primarily explores his identity. Born in London, he is Pakistani, Kenyan, Indonesian and Yemeni and researches his origins in a refreshingly open manner full of curiosity.
Nadir travels a lot. He commutes regularly from Dubai to Singapore, from Indonesia to Malaysia and pushes himself to the gym every morning with a lot of self-motivation – regardless of the city and continent he is in. His motto is: I didn’t want to, so I just had to do it .
Nadir has an innovation lab called BENI – a place where he can collaborate and research with like-minded people. Last year he founded the BENI RUN CLUB (BRC). An initiative to inspire people to run 5 km. Even if they have never done this before and have no previous running experience. The slogan: “We start together, we end it together”. BRC is committed to inclusion and diversity, which is probably why Nike jumped in as a sponsor immediately.
Alex Hipwell: You do it just for yourself
If you don’t know Alex Hipwell, that’ll change when you’ve read our interview with her at the latest. Alex is Australian and has carved out a niche for herself in the fitness world in Germany by teaching Strong Barre courses in John & Jane’s Soulbase and outrageously challenging HIIT courses in the associated Powerbase.
This woman is an inspiration in many ways: She is a bodybuilding champion, Iron Man participant, professional dancer, Nike master trainer and also a mother.
Here are three of our favorite quotes from the master motivator:
- “No matter what, I’ll do it all for myself. You too? ”
- “ It’s okay if you fall and lose your spark. Just make sure that you get up again as a glowing fire. ”
- “ Sometimes life doesn’t give you what you want. Not because you don’t deserve it, but because you simply deserve more. ”
Madeleine Shaw: Get your Glow
Madeleine Shaw is a lifestyle and nutrition consultant, why did we find her on Instagram? Madeleine Shaw stands for body positivity and emotional well-being.
Madeleine is open about the fact that she struggled with anorexia for much of her youth. We recommend to athletes primobolan kur It was only during her work in the café that she understood what effect nutritious food can have on her body and, above all, the consequences of withdrawing from this source of energy. Little by little, she learned more about nutrition and began to turn her life around. She was no longer tired and sluggish, but felt energetic, positive and full of life. Since then, she has made it her life’s work to share her experiences so that others don’t make the same mistakes as she did back then. Madeleine has now published three books, launched a wellness podcast and offers yoga and wellness workshops as well as numerous initiatives and collaborations. She is not only inspiring, but ruthlessly honest and shows the not so pleasant sides of her life.
Irene Scholz: Passion never fails
Irene Scholz is a real sports fanatic. She is from Germany and fell in love with Cape Town in her twenties, where she opened her own functional gym, BOLD. In 2018 she got the offer of a lifetime: the management of adidas RUNBASE in Berlin. She even didn’t mind moving from South Africa to Germany.
Here is one of our favorite quotes from Irene:
“I have struggled with myself many times, and I still do. It’s like falling in love with yourself all the time, while accepting and silencing all outside criticism and self-criticism. And yes, some days it is tiring, but I keep reminding myself that I am doing all of this for myself, for my own satisfaction. If you can relate to all of that, or even 1% of it, remember that you always have a choice. Fill yourself with love because you can. ”
Should your couch be more inviting than the gym, bring your athletic goals back to mind and let yourself be inspired by people who exemplify them. So, what are you waiting for? Get started today!
